BRONX, May 25 — During the National Eucharistic Pilgrimage, on several Saturdays the pilgrims on the Seton Route will be doing various corporal and spiritual works of mercy, highlighting the connection between love of God and love of neighbor.
On the eighth day of their pilgrimage, they were privileged to be welcomed by the Missionaries of Charity, founded by St. Teresa of Calcutta, in their convent in the Bronx.
In shifts of six, the pilgrims helped the sisters in cleaning the homeless shelter for men and in serving food for them. While six were in the shelter, others were in the sisters' chapel adoring the Lord Jesus in the monstrance accompanying the pilgrimage.
